| Our Changing Climate: What does it mean for BC’s forests, communities, and economy? Synopsis - The B.C. Forum on Economics and Policy sponsored a workshop on the effects of climate change on B.C.’s forests, communities and economy. A panel of four speakers gave brief comments followed by questions from the workshop participants. A moderated panel with the participants followed encouraging open discussion and dialogue among the people affecting the response within the B.C. forest sector to a changing climate. The workshop was an opportunity to question, and perhaps challenge, some of the experts whose views will affect B.C. policy response to a changing climate. |

| Synopsis - On November 8, 2007, the BC Forum hosted a workshop to examine the major challenges to innovation in the forest sector in British Columbia. The half day session at the University of British Columbia sparked a valuable discussion amongst researchers and practitioners that addressed some of the following questions: · Can innovation help us extract greater value along the value chain? · How do we diversify product lines and income streams through innovation? · Are there opportunities for innovation in the marketplace? |
